New Daily Bus Service Launched from Dharwad to Ujjini
Dharwad, Karnataka: Responding to public demand, the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has announced a new daily bus service connecting Dharwad to Ujjini Sri Peetha, a holy town and seat of one of the Pancha Peethas in Vijayanagar district.
The service will commence on Friday, March 7th, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri. This move comes after long-standing requests from devotees and religious organizations in Dharwad for a convenient travel option to Ujjini.
“Ujjini is a significant pilgrimage destination for many in North Karnataka,” said Shashidhar Channappagowda, Divisional Controller of the Dharwad Division for NWKRTC. “We are happy to finally launch this service in response to the requests we have received from the Dharwad Veerashaiva Jangama Samstha and the public.”
The daily service bus will depart from the Dharwad New Bus Stand at 7:15 am, reaching Ujjini by 12:30 pm. The return trip will commence at 2:00 pm from Ujjini, arriving back in Dharwad at 6:30 pm. The route will include stopovers in Hubballi, Gadag, Mundargi, and Hadagali, catering to devotees along the way.
This new service is expected to benefit devotees and travelers from the region seeking a comfortable and affordable mode of transportation to visit Ujjini.
Booking for Shivaratri Darshan
Since the bus service will be launching on March 8 on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, devotees can book the ticket in advance, those who wish to visit the holy shrine and want to book a ticket can register their names by dialling 94825 53883, 94811 28911 , said Veerashaiva Jangam Samsthe president in a press release.
